Getting Started with the Peace of Mind Curriculum
Congratulations!
And welcome to the Peace of Mind Community. The Peace of Mind Program teaches mindfulness-based social emotional learning, with a focus on brain science, gratitude, kindness, conflict resolution, and standing up for others.
Teaching Peace of Mind helps students develop the skills to increase self awareness, learn to manage big emotions so that they can choose their responses, build friendships, solve conflicts independently and peacefully, and to be able to put these skills to work in the classroom and in life. By taking up this work, you will help to develop compassion and a sense of agency in your students and move your own classroom, group or school community toward even more kindness and inclusion.
The goal for this course is to help you feel confident and prepared to teach Peace of Mind to your students. We hope you will find some personal benefits from this curriculum, too.
This course will introduce you to the Peace of Mind philosophy, explain how the curricula is organized, and take you through several sample lessons. We'll dive into best practices for teaching Peace of Mind and address commonly asked questions. We will explore some ideas for sharing Peace of Mind information with families and colleagues and we'll offer support in starting or deepening our own mindfulness practice.
Thank you for taking up this transformative work! Find more about the Peace of Mind Program at TeachPeaceofMind.org.
